Out of all the golf products out there, putters tend to have the strongest resale market. And once again, Toulon Golf and master guitar maker and musician Jimmy Carbonetti produced a flatstick that sold out within hours of its release. It’s not hard to see why, with each number of the limited batch telling its own unique story.

Now in its third year, the collaboration combines Toulon’s expertise in crafting milled putters and Carbonetti’s skillful manipulation of hardwoods, as each putter is fitted with a wooden sole plate. Last year, Carbonetti and Toulon used a 150-year-old Elm from Prospect Park in Brooklyn that was destined for removal, and this time they found a century-old Madrone from the secluded Meadow Club in San Francisco, California.

Far from a household name, golf architecture enthusiasts know Meadow Club as Alister Mackenzie’s first course in America, as the Englishman would go on to famously design Augusta National Golf Club. When Carbonetti learned that a majestic old Madrone tree at the Meadow Club was deemed to be an environmental hazard, he and the Toulon brothers made it their objective to acquire and make it the centerpiece for their latest project.

The Carbonetti Meadow Club has a mallet shaped head that was inspired by the style of putter Dr. Mackenzie used during his life, and the head is slow milled and coated with a black PVD finish. The wooden sole plates, all of which were fashioned by Carbonetti in his Brooklyn studio, feature both Carbonetti and Meadow Club’s logos as engravings filled with black paint. And to honor the third coming together with Toulon, Jimmy crafted a guitar from the same Madrone wood that graces each putter.

Although the putters are sold out, you can check for availability on resale sites or a potential restock on Toulon’s website.
