At Milan Design Week, designer and visual artist Andrés Reisinger crafts a theatrical narrative in Nilufar Depot’s atrium. Presenting in the form of a large-scale experiential exhibition, 12 Chairs For Meditation invites visitors to the space to partake in a session of introspective meditation that forms a temporary escape from the constraints of time.

Co-curated with Nilufar’s founder, Nina Yashar, the center of the exhibition features a collection of chairs scattered around a large, striking mosaic piece. Measuring six meters both height and width, the site-specific mosaic depicts an ethereal and surreal scenery of the sky, starring 12 levitating apples in a photorealistic style.

The chairs all arrive in an all-white look, each serving as a physical homage to various design eras. In line with Resinger’s multisensory approach, a bespoke musical piece, composed by the artist and designer himself, can be heard through the installation to enhance the meditative experience.
