After a legion of cryptic billboards featuring the artist’s signature “blohsh” symbol and supposed lyrics popped up in global cities.
Everyone became Billie Eilish’s close friend on Thursday afternoon — according to Instagram, at least. The “What Was I Made For?” singer caught fans by surprise by uploading a cryptic image to her Instagram “Close Friends” Story for all of her followers to see, in what many believe to be a teaser for her next album.
The lo-fi photo in question doesn’t reveal too much: it appears to feature Eilish’s hand against a dark blue backdrop, with no additional context. However, the conversation-stirring post comes after several billboards popped up in global cities featuring the artist’s signature “blohsh” motif and snippets of supposed lyrics, including “Did I cross the line?,” “I try to live in black and white” and “She’s the headlights I’m the deer.” Eilish did not confirm that the billboards are tied to a new album, but she did share one on her Instagram Story, which read, “Do you know how to bend?”

The Happily Ever After artist has since changed her social media profile photo to a blue circle, matching the shade that appears on the aforementioned signs. In late February, Eilish confirmed that her next album has already been mastered, meaning that it’s just about ready to be released.
“There is a whole album of music coming,” Eilish previously said in September. “We’re in the final stages of making it, so that doesn’t mean it’s about to come out, but it is getting there and it’s very exciting.”
