Apple Is Reportedly Developing a Personal Robot for the Home
A month after abandoning its electric car project.

After scrapping its rumored electric car project in February, a long-running effort codenamed “Project Titan,” Apple has reportedly shifted its focus to robots.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company is exploring the development of personal robots for the home. Currently, it’s focusing on one bot that would follow people around their living space and another desktop-style bot that can sit on a table and move display screens around.
The report cited those familiar with the project, which is reportedly being developed under Apple’s home devices group. Following the shuttering of Project Titan, it was rumored that some of the engineers would be reallocated to different divisions of the company, so it’s possible that Apple is using the same engineering talent for its robots.
Bloomberg also noted that some of the technology created as a part of Project Titan, such as algorithms, is being carried over to the robots.
Apple is reportedly concerned with the cost of the bots and just how much the public would reasonably be willing to pay to bring one into their home.
