AKTHESAVIOR and sagun Meld Hip-Hop and Lo-fi on Collaborative LP 'u r not alone'

Following a collection of singles, AKTHESAVIOR and sagun have released their u r not alone project. While rapper AKTHESAVIOR calls Brooklyn home, the lo-fi producer sagun hails from Nepal; a collaboration between different continents and distinct sonic styles, u r not alone melds AKTHESAVIOR’s punchy wordplay with sagun’s lo-fi beats.

sagun does all of the production on the project, backing AK’s bars with looping lo-fi melodies. They kicked off the 16-song record with five focus tracks: “Dear World,”, “Issues,” “Humble” with Pink Siifu, “Tetsuo’s Ways” with Mick Jenkins and “No Scars.”

Other collaborators on the album include Erick The Architect, A$AP Twelvyy, Jaws of Love (Kelcey Ayer of Local Natives) and Azizi Gibson.

“u r not alone is a message of solidarity. As humans, we’re all unique individuals, yet we all go through similar experiences and can help each other by spreading love and being more open and united,” AK explained in a press release. “In this fast-paced society that we’ve created for ourselves, we tend to lose connection to the fundamentals. This album is meant to bring back into view the things that truly hold value in life.”

“u r not alone means we all are connected somehow in this universe,” added sagun. “No matter how lonely you feel in this life, there will always be someone who will back you up.”

The duo also dropped off the visual for “Johnnie Talkin’,” which combines the real world with AKTHESAVIOR and sagun’s anime world – something the duo really connected on while crafting the project from their respective hometowns.
