Doja Cat Unleashes Seven New Tracks on 'Scarlet 2 CLAUDE'
The deluxe iteration of ‘Scarlet’ includes contributions from A$AP Rocky and Teezo Touchdown.
Doja Cat has unveiled the deluxe edition of her fourth studio album Scarlet: Scarlet 2 CLAUDE. Named after The Hunchback of Notre Dame‘s antagonist Claude Frollo, Scarlet 2 CLAUDE tacks on seven classic new Doja tracks to the beginning of the album, with features from A$AP Rocky and Teezo Touchdown.
Track titles are truly Doja-coded. The deluxe iteration of the acclaimed album kicks off with the assertive “ACKNOWLEDGE ME,” followed by one of Doja’s favorites “DISRESPECTFUL,” “URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!” with Rocky, “OKLOSER” (which would be “okay, loser”), “MASC” with Teezo, “PISS” and “HEADHIGH.”
As for Scarlet 2 CLAUDE‘s ties to Scarlet, Doja spoke more on that in a recent interview with Therapy Gecko.
“I feel like it connects to the story of Scarlet in some degree and if you look up his personality traits and who he is and his story, you’ll understand the whole connection,” she explained.
She also added that Frollo is not representative of anyone in her life. “There’s a control aspect — he just abuses his power and his control. There’s nothing anything very personal happening to me with one person. Claude Frollo doesn’t depict a single person in my life. It’s like a metaphor for the people that creatives endure on a daily basis.”
