Finally, the Concrete Boys have laced up their Timbs and formally stepped onto the scene.

Consisting of Lil Yachty; KARRAHBOOO; Draft Day; Dc2trill; and Camo!, the Concrete Boys have built a solid support system as well as significant online excitement for the group’s compilation project It’s Us Vol. 1 – which not only marks the first official project from the Concrete Boys but also the first project Lil Boat will be releasing under his just-launched Concrete Rekordz label.

The rollout was subtle and colorful, beginning before we even knew it. In October 2023, The Boys unofficial introduction to the world with an admiral appearance on On The Radar (the performance actually appears on the album) with a five-minute freestyle that quickly went viral and has now amassed nearly five million views.

In December, they unveiled the festive “Mo Jams,” with each rapper putting out consistent solo offerings as well. KARRAHBOOO’s On The Radar verse garnered significant online acclaim, catalyzing “Running Late” and an appearance on Anycia’s “SPLASH BROTHERS.”

It wasn’t until recently that we got a new Crete cut. “Family Business” dropped last week, which revealed the release date for It’s Us Vol. 1 at the end, but the track is not on the album. Just Wednesday, the Concrete Family released the video for Draft Day’s “Love Language” which also doesn’t appear on the album. All visuals thus far have been directed by AMD Visuals.

Aside from Dc2trill’s “My Life,” accompanied by a standout music video with the entire Concrete gang, and the On The Radar freestyle, the album is all new music.

Every song is distinctive in its sound – with even some songs sounding like two or three separate ones with unexpected yet apt beat switch-ups. A well-crafted compilation album, It’s Us. Vol. 1 combines one track from each artist – except Yachty who has three – with tracks by different duos and combinations of the group.

“Point Me To It,” the album’s intro, opens with an atmospheric melody – evocative of Let’s Start Here’s psychedelic vibe. Camo! kicks off the project with his smooth, autotune-drenched vocals.

KARRAHBOOO goes solo on “Where Yo Daddy” asserting hard-hitting, witty bars for two minutes. “Fifty-thousand plus around my neck, it shine like Stanely (‘Crete) / They mad that I’m rapping I get bread to pay my family / Tired of you h*es that’s why I’m always poppin’ addy,” she delivers on the chorus.

Yachty’s first solo comes on the fifth track “LA Reid,” where Boat croons over a horn-heavy jazz beat. “I hate to break the news, b*tch, nobody heard of you,” he repeats on the outro.

Cash Cobain produced Yachty’s third solo cut at number fourteen, “Pimpin Ain’t Easy,” which is followed by the infamous On The Radar at track fifteen. The full tracklist is included below.

The strongest duo on the project though just might be KARRAHBOOO and Yachty. BOOO’s slick, conversational flow is unlike any other mainstream female rappers out there right now. The pair link up on “Not Da 2” and “Jeff and Lita” and possess a sonic banter also evident on the group tracks when Yachty tees up for KARRAHBOOO to fire off – or when he’s ad-libbing about her or on his other verses.

While each artist is more than capable solo, together, they’re more concrete. It’s Us Vol. 1 is – both aurally and visually – a rock-solid foundation for the group to continue to thrive and evolve.
