IKEA Releases Nytillverkad 80th Anniversary Collection Drop 4
Capturing the optimism of flower power.
Just as much as IKEA loves looking to the future the brand has always had a knack for voyaging into the past. With that spirit, IKEA is digging back into its archives yet again to present the fourth drop of its Nytillverkad 80th anniversary collection.
Looking to the spirit of the 60s and 70s, the Nytillvekad collection captures the period’s optimistic sentiments through multicolored floral motifs. To bring the fourth collection to the fold, the furniture company enlisted the help of designers Gillis Lundgren, Charlotte Rude, Hjördis Olsson-Une and Göta Trägårdh to produce new versions of some of IKEA’s signature offerings. One of the standout offerings is the comeback of Göta Trägårdh’s floral patterns, which first debuted at IKEA in the early 70s.
Maneuvering to furniture, the collection sees pieces like the steel-tube easy design ÖNNESTAD armchair, which debuted in 1972. The pieces have been updated with high-strength steel for a lighter composition with the same functionality and quality. Elsewhere in the collection are the DYKARKLOCKA pendant lampshade, GARNANÄS coffee table, PRIMÄRSKOG plant stand and more.
Check out the offering in the gallery above. The fourth edition of the Nytillverkad 80th anniversary collection will be released globally in-store and online at IKEA on April 1.
