Tommy Hilfiger Announces Partnership With Women’s Racing Championship, F1 Academy

Tommy Hilfiger has inked a partnership with F1 Academy, a single-seater racing championship for women drivers. Dedicated to developing female talent in the sport, the Academy launched with its inaugural season last year.

As part of the collaboration, Tommy Hilfiger will be sponsoring Spanish race car driver Nerea Martí, who will be behind the wheel of a branded race car from the label and outfitted in a customer racing suit. Both the car and the suit made their debut with Martí during F1 Academy’s pre-season testing in Saudi Arabia last week.

Tommy Hilfiger is also behind the F1 Academy staff uniform, as well as responsible for dressing one of the fifteen liveries for the 2024 season.

The new partnership builds on the designer’s long standing relationship with F1, dating back to 1991 when Hilfiger, an avid motorsports fan himself, secured his first sponsorship with Team Lotus. He went on to sponsor Ferrari in 1998, a deal that spanned four years, and in 2018, tapped Lewis Hamilton as an ambassador for his own brand.

“I am a lifelong fan of motorsport and its evolution is exciting,” Hilfiger said. “The world of racing is developing at an incredible pace and the F1 Academy is at the forefront of this movement. I look forward to working with Managing Director Susie Wolff, leading driver Nerea Martí and the entire F1 Academy team as they break barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sport.”
