Jil Sander Opens First Store in the UK
Located on Bond St. in London.

Since its 1968 founding in Hamburg, Germany, Jil Sander has been a leading worldwide name in minimalist fashion. Whether under the direction of Jil Sander herself or Luke and Lucie Meier, who have been the house’s co-creative directors since 2017, the brand’s name continues to be synonymous with clean, yet elevated sophisticated style. In continuing to extend its reach, Jil Sander has now opened its first store in the United Kingdom.
Although the brand has been sold in department stores like Harrod’s and more for quite some time, the new store on London’s Bond Street marks the brand’s first standalone location in the UK. Comprising 1,600 square feet, the split-level store was created with the help of architecture firm Casper Mueller Kneer. Mirroring the brand’s minimal and clean identity, the store sees monochrome marble, brass and timber segments alongside silver-blue travertine.
“We aim at creating spaces where you feel at ease, where the first thing you sense is an atmosphere, rather than an architecture,” said Luke and Lucie Meier. The space houses the extent of the Jil Sander wardrobe spanning menswear and womenswear ready-t0-wear garments, runway collections, pre-collections, handbags, footwear and accessories.
