Taylor Swift, The Weeknd and Bad Bunny Conquer Spotify's 2024 Wrapped

As the year draws to a close Spotify is once again gifting users with their much-anticipated “Wrapped” listening stats, an annual tradition that began in 2016. However, the campaign is accompanied by its global lists, illuminating the artists and songs that defined the cultural zeitgeist of the year.

Unsurprisingly, Taylor Swift takes the crown as Spotify’s 2024 Global Top Artist, following the release of her 2024 LP THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT and her headline-making Eras Tour, which continued to make its rounds across the world. The Weeknd moved up a spot from last year taking second place after Swift, as the first artist with 22 songs to reach more than one billion streams each, according to recent data from Billboard. While the ubiquitous Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny has moved down to number three, his consistent place in the top three for an impressive six years speaks to the artist’s grip on global listeners. Following Bad Bunny in the top ten list are Drake, Billie Eilish, Travis Scott, Peso Pluma, Kanye West, Ariana Grande, and Feid.

While newcomer Sabrina Carpenter did not make the top ten artist list, her hit single “Espresso” took the number one spot in the top ten global songs, followed by Benson Boone‘s “Beautiful Things” and Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather”. Taylor Swift dominated the most streamed albums with TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY at number one, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) at number six, and Lover at number eight. Carpenter’s Short n’Sweet and Eilish’s HIT ME HARD AND SOFT took the second and third spots, respectively.
