MM6 Maison Margiela has revealed its Pre-Fall 2025 in response to the baggy and oversized aesthetic brought on by streetwear’s long reign. Focusing on reworking formal archetypes to fit the modern everyday life, the clothing is an elevated nod to a more sculptural fit.
The dramatic shoulders the house has been defined by since the 1980s sees a return in the new Pre-Fall collection. Archival references spill over into the latest lookbook, pinpointing more opulent street codes. The loose-fitting silhouette is very much in play here with its mannish cuts and generous fit blazers. The brand’s minimalism is injected with overdyed textures, inside out denim, fluid tailoring trousers and blazers, oversized bags and more. Wardrobe staples come through with a vintage touch, featuring stonewashed satin bomber jackets, a white peacoat that appears to be a play on early MM6 menswear days and cinched denim military cut jackets. MM6 Maison Margiela’s continued collaboration with Salomon extends to additional apparel items like fleece sweaters with both labels’ co-branding.
For womenswear, the Pre-Fall 2025 collection revealed box-cut silhouettes that focused on the movement, bringing the mob-wife aesthetic in with the faux fur coats, oversized leather bombers paired with silk, flowing tops and more. The white menswear peacoat shows that the collection is versatile and can be worn as an oversized rendition. MM6 Maison Margiea Pre-Fall 2025 takes on the “ready-when-worn” sensibility, doubling down on the idea that the clothes are meant to be lived in and not just for show.
