Chrono24’s Most Hyped Watches In November
Spotlighting models from Tudor, Grand Seiko, Jaeger-LeCoultre to Cartier and Rolex.
In this monthly series with Hypetime, Chrono24 will be providing background on some of the most coveted luxury watches in the pre-owned market based on real-time findings from its global marketplace.
Every month, five models will be spotlighted by Chrono24’s in-house experts. The selection is based on monthly analytics, with each piece meeting all four criteria: 1) The watch must receive a critical mass of supply as well as demand, 2) There must be a significant percentage increase in inquiries and offers compared to the previous month as the reference period, 3) The search queries for the watch model must exceed a critical threshold defined from the data set, 4) The available listings per model must exceed a critical threshold defined from the data set.
Read on for the most hyped watches on Chrono24 in November.
Tudor Black Bay Pro 79470-0001
It comes as no surprise to anyone familiar with the wide world of luxury watches that the Tudor Black Bay bears a rather obvious resemblance to a certain model from its sibling company: Rolex’s famed Explorer II. But that’s not a bad thing, the Black Bay Pro is a steel bezel sportswatch with its own veritable list of perks. Its 39mm size makes it super versatile, and it’s a GMT with dual-time functionality. Since July of this year, Chrono24 has seen demand for this model explode, up more than 400%. Spotted regularly on the wrist of Tudor ambassador David Beckham, this model also counts watch-loving celebs like Will Smith and John Mayer as fans.
Grand Seiko Spring Drive SBGA415
Chrono24 has reported on the surge in popularity it has witnessed within the last year for the Grand Seiko “Skyflake,” the SBGA407 with its signature light blue dial. The Grand Seiko Spring Drive SBGA415 is similar in its finishing and surpassed its highest level of demand since the start of 2023 last month.
Named after one of Japan’s 24 microseasons, the “Taisetsu” is symbolic of deep winter snow and sun and translated into a stunning grey textured dial. This winter-aesthetic watch also contains the 9R65 Spring Drive movement and the case and bracelet gleam with Grand Seiko’s High-intensity grade 5 titanium.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classique 250.8.86
While the JLC Reverso Classique is a dress watch of champions, it also registers as an elevated contender for an everyday watch. The most fun and recognizable feature of this timepiece is its outer case and case middle, which enables a cool swivel feature between the dial and caseback. Even when the caseback is forward and the dial is hidden, this art deco-inspired piece sings, offering the perfect surface for engraving and personalization.
It’s no surprise that this JLC model makes many red carpet appearances as it’s been seen on the wrists of Jay-Z, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jamie Foxx, Pierce Brosnan and John Hamm… just to name a few. While demand has remained fairly steady for the past couple of years, Chrono24 saw it reach its highest point in November.
Cartier Santos De Cartier WSSA0061
Two hot trends in the watch world right now come together in this 2023 timepiece: the legendary house of Cartier, and the green dial craze. This Cartier Santos De Cartier model specifically is offered with a “smoky green” dial that left watch lovers clamoring. A French luxury vibe and stunning green dial give this traditionally sporty-feeling Cartier a fresh feel despite its classic rounded square shape and exposed bezel screws.
Since its introduction a year and a half ago, demand for the WSSA0061 reached an all-time high on Chrono24 in November, a good indicator that the Cartier boom isn’t going anywhere. And the wrist love from celebs like Tom Holland, Henry Black and Daan de Groot doesn’t hurt either.
Rolex Oyster Precision 6466
Calling all vintage Rolex lovers! The Oyster Precision 6466 is still an enviable piece from the mid-1900s with a smaller, unisex case size of 30mm. With a manual wind and a plexi “crystal” that was accurate for the period, this vintage beauty is a covetable example of how a Rolex will stand the test of time — and perhaps most excitingly, is one of the most cost-friendly Rolexes on the market.
For vintage lovers, it’s like wearing a piece of history. Demand for this model on Chrono24 peaked in November of last year, and interestingly almost matched that rise again last month, perhaps for some very lucky holiday gift-getters.
