Chris Evans Reportedly Returning To The MCU for 'Avengers: Doomsday'
The actor last portrayed Steve Rogers/Captain America in 2019 for ‘Avengers: Endgame.’

Chris Evans could be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film.
As per The Wrap, the extent of the actor’s participation in Doomsday remains unclear. Although Evans said goodbye to his longtime role as Steve Rogers/Captain America in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame by letting Steve finally age, The Wrap explained that his role could be similar to that of Robert Downey Jr.’s; Tony Stark/Iron Man was confirmed to have died in Endgame, but a variant of Stark as Doctor Doom will be appearing in Doomsday. There’s also the matter of his previous role as Johnny Storm from the Fox Fantastic Four films — a role he previously reprised for Deadpool and Wolverine — but nothing is confirmed as of writing.
Neither Marvel nor Evans have commented on the rumor.
Avengers: Doomsday will be helmed by Joe and Anthony Russo and is set to premiere in May 1, 2026.
