Grand Seiko Brings Mount Iwate’s Frozen Waterfall to the Dials of Two Hi-Beat Revival Watches
Aptly named “Icefall.”
In the mood for winter, Grand Seiko has unveiled a duo of Hi-Beat 1998 Revival timepieces with “Icefall” patterned dials. As the name indicates, the dials draw inspiration from the frozen waterfall on Mount Iwate located near the Grand Seiko Shizukuishi Watch Studio.
Both watches are modern reinterpretations of the first Grand Seiko mechanical timepiece from 1998. Geared with 55 hours of power reserve, the timepieces are both equipped with the in-house 9S85 caliber.
Encased in the Japanese watch brand’s Ever-Brilliant Steel, the SBGH347 features a 37mm case size and is paired with a matching steel bracelet. It’s currently available for purchase via the brand with a price tag of $6,900 USD.
Meanwhile, the SBGH349 is outfitted in High-Intensity Titanium, which is 30% lighter than stainless steel and offers greater resistance to corrosion and hypoallergenic. Measuring 40mm in case diameter, the timepiece is complete with a titanium bracelet and three-dold clasp as fastening. Launching in January 2025, the timepiece will retail for $7,400 USD via Grand Seiko.
