Cartoon Network has officially shuttered its doors on its website after 26 years of operation. The nostalgic and beloved childhood television channel that shaped many generations of youth in the past three decades is making a significant transition into the modern streaming world with the closure. A digital playground riddled with nostalgia, featuring exclusive features and interactive games, the website’s shut down is all a part of Warner Bros. Discovery‘s cost-cutting measures.

Since Warner Bros. Discovery now owns Cartoon Network, the channel is a part of the overall strategy for the company to consolidate its digital platforms, which inevitably contributed to the website’s closure. While the website is closed, the channel remains operational. Visitors of the CartoonNetwork.Com will now be redirected to Max, Warner Bros. Discovery’s flagship streaming service. CN’s representative released a statement, “Fans can continue to interact with Cartoon Network via the Cartoon Network app and social platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.”

Cartoon Network’s website has be the host of many iconic flash games and exclusive show contents from their original programming including Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Teen Titans Go! and more. In the new cost-cutting strategy, Warner Bros. Discovery is working on expanding the channel’s reach. CN fans can still enjoy the shows on streaming but it is an end of an era for the website, marking a nostalgic end for those whose childhood was shaped by Cartoon Network.
