A landmark collection of works by Harmony Korine is set to land in Paris, courtesy of French fashion designer agnès b. Staged at La Fab in the city’s 13th arrondissement, the retrospective exhibition features an array of photographs, prints and paintings by the American artist, shining a light on three decades of boundary-breaking work.

A starlet of 1990s underground culture, Korine’s practice is defined by its nostalgic, edgy and experimental overtones, taking the shape of what he calls “mistakist art.” From the 1997 cult-classic directorial debut Gummo to the more recent Aggro Dr1ft starring Travis Scott, his multifaceted work has always challenged the status quo, inviting viewers to explore his bold and surreal aesthetic world.

The artist first met agnès b. at the 1999 premiere of Julien Donkey Boy in Venice. The encounter marked the start of a lasting creative synergy between the two, leading to numerous collaborations over the years. In an interview with the “There is something between us, we become children together,” the designer noted back in 2003. “It’s not about support, it’s about friendship.”

Harmony Korine in agnès b. collection since 1997 will be on view in Paris from November 22, 2024 through March 23, 2024. Head to La Fab’s website to purchase tickets and learn more about the exhibition.
