Tekla Taps Auralee For Collection Inspired by Japanese Bathing Traditions
Featuring terry striped towels, poplin sleepwear sets and extra cozy outerwear.
The bathing cultures of Scandinavia and Japan meet in Tekla and Auralee‘s inaugural collaboration, drawing inspiration from Japan’s communal hot springs. The natural environments of the country’s “onsen” baths inform the ethos of the collection, which comprises towels, sleepwear, and outerwear in Tekla’s signature poplin and terry fabrics.
Terry knit towels are offered in striped sage green and pale blue hues, recalling the mineral-rich waters and lush vegetation surrounding the hot springs. In addition to Tekla’s standard sizing, an Onsen-sized towel comes with a special canvas label that acts as a fastener for wrapping.
Poplin sleepwear sets offered with the option of shorts or trousers, adopt the subtle tonal stripes seen in the towelling. Auralee’s prowess for garment construction shines in two outerwear styles including a robe coat and a puffy down-filled jacket. The collection is rounded out with knitted winter accessories including tan ankle socks and rib knit beanies topped with pom-poms.
The Tekla x Auralee collection is set for release on October 30 at both brands’ web stores, and in-store at Auralee Tokyo and Tekla Copenhagen.
