AURALEE x SALON C. LUNDMAN Debut Collaboration ── Capsule Collection Fusing Tailoring and Fine Materials Announced
Expanding on 8 reimagined staple pieces from both brands
Ryota Iwai’s AURALEE and Stockholm-based SALON C. LUNDMAN have announced their first collaborative capsule collection, A Conversation.
AURALEE designer Ryota Iwai and SALON C. LUNDMAN designer Christofer Lundman have built a relationship over several years. This collection, born from their dialogue, fuses AURALEE’s original materials and staple items with the tailoring and delicate details that SALON C. LUNDMAN excels at.
The lineup features a single-breasted jacket ($363,000 JPY) crafted by an Italian tailor using AURALEE’s SUPER 180’S TROPICAL WOOL, and double-pleated trousers ($154,000 JPY) in AURALEE’s BLUEFACED WOOL herringbone stripe fabric. For shirts, they offer the DOUBLE COLLAR SHIRT ($121,000 JPY), which takes AURALEE’s staple model as a base and incorporates SALON C. LUNDMAN’s signature double collar detail.
In outerwear, the collection offers a balmacaan coat ($407,000 JPY) made from a 70% wool and 30% cashmere mosser fabric. After being tailored in Japan, it is hand-finished in Stockholm with embroidery featuring stone and shell motifs. Other items include a seamless long-sleeve T-shirt with bead embroidery and a special label ($37,400 JPY), a baby cashmere stole ($96,800 JPY), a cashmere knit pullover ($132,000 JPY), and a knit cap ($81,400 JPY).
To coincide with the collection’s release, large posters featuring portraits of 12 individuals will be displayed in-store. By having different people wear the same look, the project expresses how the same clothes can take on different expressions and meanings depending on the wearer. The posters are available for visitors to take home freely and will be distributed in limited quantities.
