Teenage Engineering Releases John Lennon ‘Mind Games’ OB-4 Interactive Speaker
A functional speaker equipped with an immersive listening experience, complete with 9 newly mixed versions of the record.
Audio equipment brand Teenage Engineering has teamed up with Sean Ono Lennon to create an immersive listening experience for John Lennon‘s 1973 LP Mind Games. The final result takes the form of Teenage Engineering’s OB–4 bluetooth speaker featuring the original album, as well as 9 Meditation Mixes of Mind Games, an exclusive new Metronome and 9 Mantras that users can alter with their own spin.
The OB-4 is a high fidelity speaker that boasts creative tools like to rewind, loop and fast-forward. In a statement Sean Ono Lennon said “The idea of gamifying the Mind Games album has manifested as an incredible limited edition speaker and radio that will allow you to modify this classic John Lennon album in ambient mode in a way that’s never been done. I truly can’t wait for people to try it!”
The former Beatles member remains an icon of modern music who pushed the boundaries of the rock genre with an expansive catalog of experimental work and global hits.
The interactive album concept finds its roots in Teenage Engineering’s collaboration with the late designer Virgil Abloh, which loaded the OB–4 Off-White edition with the sounds of traditional Ghanaian music on disk mode.
The Mind Games OB–4 is limited edition product available only between October 9-31 or when sold out on Teenage Engineering’s web store.
