Update: It’s nearly time for PLEASURES’ latest project with ASICS, which features the GEL-NYC in a nature-themed look, to make its grand debute. Teased many times previously, a set of official imagery and press details has revealed the shoes in their entirety. “Living in California, we are exposed to various cycles of sensory nature on the daily. We wanted to incorporate those feelings into the design,” shares PLEASURES co-founder Alex James. Release begins tomorrow, October 11, via PLEASURES, where pairs will be made available at a price of $160 USD. From there, a global launch via ASICS and select retailers such as HBX will go down on October 18.
Original Story: Los Angeles-based label PLEASURES has a reputation for putting together exciting collaborations and has done so several times previously with ASICS, touching on everything from the GEL-NANDI OG to the GEL-LYTE III. As Fall/Winter 2024 continues to unravel, the duo is back with yet another footwear project, this time looking to the GEL-NYC, a silhouette that first hit the scene just last year.
While a complete set of visuals has not yet been shared, two teaser trailers have unveiled many of its key details. The pair begins with a lavender ripstop base and sees orange enter the mix at the midfoot’s branding overlays. A chocolate brown is visible around the tongue as well as at the mudguard and GEL-backed sole unit. As for co-branding, the typical ASICS hits are joined by a “PLEASURES” note at the toe.
Release for PLEASURES and ASICS’ latest project involving the GEL-NYC is currently scheduled to drop via PLEASURES and select retailers such as HBX on October 11 around the model’s typical $140 USD price point.
