Peels and 76 Offer Up a High-Octane Apparel Collection

A collaboration made in petrol heaven.

Peels founder Jerome Peel is a man of many hats — he’s a workwear designer, skater, and, perhaps most infamously the man behind Citi Bike Boyz — but one of his other passions is automotive culture. Now, that passion is being spotlighted in the most Peels-esque way possible: by collaborating with 76, the well-known gas station chain.

The collection’s energy comes from its fusion of two different worlds: Peels has a playful, rapscallion-esque nature to its hardy workwear, while 76 is a straight-laced purveyor of petrol that describes itself as offering “Quality Fuel Near You” on its website. This juxtaposition is displayed across an offering of shop jackets and short-sleeve workwear shirts that combine iconography like a 76 gas pump logo and a checkered flag with a stylized Peels wordmark that wouldn’t look out of place on a NASCAR livery. Jerome’s passion for cars can be seen throughout the lookbook as well, which features his own persona silver Honda NSX and black Nissan R34 Skyline.

“I’m proud of the meaning and the heart behind what I do with Peels, from the storytelling to the factories I work with,” Jerome Peel told Hypebeast in Hypebeast Magazine #32. “It’s a slow-growing thing that I want to be around forever.”

The Peels x 76 collection is available via the Peels webstore now. Work shirts retail for $92 USD while jackets are priced at $108 USD.
