Update: Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and so is the release of the Nike Ja 2 “Heart Eyes.” The pair was first spotted back in October and has now been officially unveiled by the Swoosh, highlighting its vibrant composition that notably sees hearts at the heel of the left shoe and broken hearts at the heel of the right shoe. Release remains anticipated for February 7 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $130 USD.
Original Story: Ja Morant and Nike Basketball recently launched the Memphis Grizzlies star’s second signature shoe with the Nike Ja 2 and, similar to its predecessor, the shoe is being prepared in many holiday-themed looks. In addition to the “Nightmare” pair that dropped last week and the upcoming “Christmas” colorway — both of which served as themes for the Nike Ja 1 — a Valentine’s Day-inspired “Heart Eyes” design is on the way.
Our initial preview of the pair sees it presented in a two-tone arrangement that begins with a salmon pink at the front and shifts to a light pink around the heel, with the upper portion of the heel featuring a wrapped graphic of painted-on hearts in neon pink. While these hearts are normal on the left shoe, the right shoe exclusively sees broken hearts occupy the space. This mismatched approach is common with many Ja 2 colorways as minor color shifts are present between the left and right shoes.
At the time of writing, Nike has not yet announced when this “Heart Eyes” take on the Nike Ja 2 will be releasing. Stay tuned for confirmation, including official imagery, as it is currently anticipated to drop on February 7 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $130 USD.
