The MING 37.02 Minimalist Timepiece Debuts a Polar White Lume
The first timepiece to be produced under the brand’s new Swiss entity.
MING’s latest unveiling marks a significant milestone for the company. With the new 37.02 Minimalist, it’s officially the first timepiece to be designed, engineered and managed completely in-house by Horologer Ming SA — the brand’s new Swiss entity.
Known for their distinct luminosity and innovative dials, MING watches have always been a bit difficult to obtain, given their limited availability. Part of that was mostly due to the limitations and difficulties with working with external suppliers.
With its new facility in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, MING is not only able to gain better control over its supply chain but also grants the teams more room for creation and production. The new 37.02 Minimalist reference is precisely the fruit of this change.
Developed and crafted in-house, the new reference debuts a white lume, achieved via its very own MING Polar WHITE — a luminous material that glows in a true white. Why is this impressive? Well, most if not all lume features on watches have always been colored, making this invention by MING truly unprecedented.
Measuring 38mm in case diameter, the watch features a stainless steel build in a polished-brushed finish. Under its dome-shaped crystal lies a sapphire dial inset with liquid-filled MING Polar White luminous indices. This is finished with luminous hands coated in Super-LumiNova X1, which boasts a blue glow that enhances the watch’s visual contrast and low-light readability.
Inside, the timepiece is powered by the self-winding Sellita for MING SW300.M1, geared with anthracite skeletonized bridges, a matte anthracite base, an open rotor and a power reserve of around 45 hours. The 37.02 Minimalist retails for around 3,250 CHF (approx. $3,744 USD) and is readily available to shop now via the brand’s website.
