Shygirl and Saweetie Unite For Sultry "Immaculate" Music Video
Glitchy special effects sync with the thumping “Club Shy” bass line as the two rappers take over a bodega.
Upon closing out her residency as the opening act on Charli XCX and Troye Sivan‘s SWEAT Tour, Shygirl has released a new single featuring Sacramento-native rapper Saweetie.
On “Immaculate” the two ride on playful flows with lines like “Baddie B, lyrically slicker than your average G” delivered by Shygirl and “I’m the it-girl of the it-girls,” delivered by Saweetie. Amidst a flurry of glitch-heavy effects Shygirl and Saweetie are framed in night vision at the backseat of a car and take over a gas station bodega, where they help themselves to slushies. In true Shygirl fashion, the visual is a gritty kaleidoscope of lo-fi pixelation and collaged frames.
The new single for the artist’s forthcoming project arrives following her recently released remix of Charli XCX’s “365,” which has served as the opening number for Charli’s set. As a surprise for the fans, the Shygirl also brought Saweetie out to perform the new track together during the San Fransisco show over the weekend. Though the American tour is set to finish this week, the artist will join Charli once again for the UK leg of the tour this coming November and December.
“Immaculate” is available to stream everywhere now. Watch the new music video above and stay tuned for more music updates from Hypebeast.
