Hypedrive – the automotive arm of Hypebeast – just wrapped up its latest event titled “Cars & Kicks,” a convergence of both automotive and sneaker culture. The event was held at the prestigious The Motoring Club social venue.

The event centered around the curation of specific sports cars, classics and builds, paired with sneakers from the car owner’s own personal collection. Backstories helped to tie together their significance and guests were encouraged to discover their histories. Activations included vendors, sponsors, product samplings and racing simulators, along with live music and food and drinks. Prizes were also awarded to our guests: a set of high performance Yokohama tires were gifted to one lucky mystery guest, while a guest’s very rare pair of Stash x Nike Air Force 1 Mids earned him a free vinyl wrap from customization company Inozetek worth $5,000 USD.

An intimate fireside chat was also held during the night, featuring Staple founder Jeff Staple, The Fast & The Furious actor and VP of SEMA RJ DeVera and The Motoring Club founder Michael Rapetti, and moderated by Director of Hypedrive Eddie Eng. Conversations concerning the inherit cultures behind sneakers and cars, personal collection questions and more were covered.

Other notable guests to the event included Fast actor Sung Kang, sneaker personality Jacques Slade, DJ Skee, Superman & Lois actor Erik Valdez and more. Music was provided by international DJ Base. Overall, over 400 guests attended, occupying both the exclusive interior and more casual exterior premises of The Motoring Club.

Thanks go out to all of the guests who came to check it out, as well as the participating sponsors: Yokohama ADVAN, Leen Customs, Tarmac Works, Staple, Inozetek and The Motoring Club. Check out the recaps and stay tuned to Hypedrive for more cultural events and get togethers to come.
