Casio Unveils Collaborative G-SHOCK with Toyota's Team Land Cuiser
Expressed through a modified version of the MUDMAN GW-9500.

Casio has joined forces with Toyota‘s Team Land Cruiser (TLC) Toyota Auto Body to launch a new G-SHOCK watch, blending rugged functionality with the spirit of high-speed rally racing. The collaboration unites the utility-driven watchmaking of G-SHOCK with the automotive prowess of TLC, a veteran of the grueling Dakar Rally, resulting in a timepiece embodying the essence of endurance and precision.
The GW-9500TLC-1DR, a modified version of the MUDMAN GW-9500, boasts a dual-layer LCD and a structure resistant to dust and mud, designed to provide reliability in harsh conditions. Additional design inspirations come from the Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport, raced by TLC in the Dakar Rally. It features a black and red color scheme with a stainless steel, black ion-plated bezel, accented with red detailing.
Unique to this model, the band showcases a brown base with a black splatter pattern, symbolizing the dust and sand of the desert rally stages. The front button guard also carries this sandy hue through ion plating. One notable feature of the watch is the LED backlight, which reveals a TLC graphic when activated.
With environmental consciousness in mind, the watch includes a solar-powered, radio-controlled movement with a variety of functions like a digital compass, barometer, altimeter and thermometer. Additionally, the use of bio-based resin for key components and recycled materials for packaging further highlights Casio’s goal of reducing environmental impact.
The Casio x TLC GW-9500TLC-1DR is set to release for roughly $500 USD via Casio’s UK site on February 1. In the meantime, learn more about the watch in the video below.
