Update: Back in January, Brain Dead surprised the sneaker scene by unveiling not only a project with adidas for the first time, but a bowling shoe. What was thought to be a F&F-exclusive at the time is now being released to the public in a black with white stripes “Righty” look and a white with black stripes “Lefty” look. Said to be a complete reissue of the Three Stripes’ bowling shoe from 1978, it features a wooden slide sole and rubber stop heel. For anyone looking to rock a pair in the streets, Brain Dead included an important note — “Bowling shoes are slippery by design. For casual use, please scuff or resole.” A raffle is up now via Brain Dead with both colorways priced at $200 USD each.

Original Story: Kyle Ng, the mastermind behind the disruptive Los Angeles-based streetwear brand Brain Dead, is no stranger to footwear design. Between collaborations via Brain Dead with the likes of ASICS, HOKA and more, as well as spearheading the Oakley Factory Team, Ng continues to demonstrate his grasp on the art. Now, with his label celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, he looks to be taking his talents to the Three Stripes as a new Brain Dead x adidas Bowling shoe has been revealed by him.

A friends and family-exclusive, this retro look arrives with black and white color arrangements flipped between the left and right shoes. At the lateral, gold co-branding calls out the two brands as two special Brain Dead x adidas hangtags accompany the shoe. Based on the two revealing that they’ve established a partnership, it’s very likely that additional footwear, and possibly apparel too, is on the way.

Unfortunately for any bowlers interested in getting their hands on a pair of these Brain Dead x adidas Bowling shoes, they’re a friends and family-exclusive in celebration of the brand’s 10th anniversary. Stay tuned for any further developments in the newfound partnership between Brain Dead and adidas as additional projects may be coming this year.
