Rep Confirms "NEW FUTURE ERA" Track Is Not by Odd Future
After the track hit streaming services.
Update: A rep for Odd Future confirmed with Hypebeast that “NEW FUTURE ERA” is not a song produced by the collective.
Tyler, the Creator‘s Odd Future surprised fans with the release of “NEW FUTURE ERA,” the collective’s first new material in 11 years.
There’s not much to go on with the song, which clocks in at just under one minute and sounds like an unfinished beat with no vocals. It only features a loop of Drake‘s “Embarrassing!” meme and what sounds like the phrase “Card was declined, by the way.” The cut appeared on all the major streaming services, but whether the group will fully return for a new project remains to be seen.
“NEW FUTURE ERA” is essentially Odd Future’s first release since March 2012’s The OF Tape Vol. 2. No one from the collective, including founders Tyler, Casey Veggies, Hodgy, Left Brain, Matt Martians and Jasper, seem to acknowledge the release, leaving fans wondering if there’s more to this single or if it was a leaked track.
