However, the return of the 2005 classic is said to be a scrapped project.
Update: News of 2005’s Japan-exclusive Nike Air Force 1 Low “Ueno Sakura” being spotted as a potential re-release had sneakerheads preparing their wallets. However, more details regarding the project have surfaced — Brendan Dunne reports that @dontchargeabdul, who made the callout, has shared it’s a scrapped project that only has two samples in existence. For any collectors looking to add this historic piece to their archive, you’ll have to hang tight until the Swoosh gives it another go.
Original Story: The highly-coveted Nike Air Force 1 Low “Ueno Sakura” is set to make a comeback in 2024.
The beloved 2005 Japan exclusive is crafted with suede uppers in a sleek light grey hue, while the panels, toeboxes and tongues are adorned with laser-etched cherry blossoms — paying homage to the beautiful Japanese season that is flocked to by both locals and tourists alike. Gold dubraes grace the laces while branding can be found on the panel swoosh, debossed Nike Air heel logo and embroidered “Ueno” emblem by the ankle. The shoe rests on a white midsole and pink outsole as a reference to the color of the cherry blossom, and matching light grey laces tie the model together for a clean finish.
