1017 ALYX 9SM Unveils Montell Fish Single "Minotaur's Song"
The third cut from ‘1017 ALYX 9SM COMPILATION VOL. 1’.
The next track off 1017 ALYX 9SM‘s and Alamo Records‘ 017 ALYX 9SM COMPILATION VOL. 1 has dropped. Montell Fish‘s “Minotaur’s Song” joins Lil Yachty‘s “Warriors” and Ethel Cain‘s “Famous Last Words (An Ode to Eaters)” on the fashion label’s compilation of avant-garde musical offerings.
Fish taps into his emotive vocals to curate an atmospheric energy that carries throughout the three-minute track. “I’ll pray for you / As you go through your storms / I’ll sing to you / Just keep going, just be strong / I’ll pray for you,” he hauntingly delivers. The middle of the track sees the inclusion of a voicemail from, presumably, the album’s curator and label’s creative director, Matthew M. Williams. “Um, I just got the song you sent. I really love it for the tape. It’s beautiful, it’s a spiritual song, definitely. I mean your music always has a deep spiritual element to it for me…”
