The Women’s World Cup recently came to a close, and Nike Women continue to showcase the female power and different possibilities. The latest styling features the Nike x Martine Rose collection and stars Hong Kong-based, four-time Olympian and swimmer Stephanie Au with Olympian bronze medalist, Taiwanese karateka Wen Tzu-yun. The imagery shot against the backdrop of soccer fields and pays homage to women in soccer, stories of female empowerment and infinite possibilities on the field. The Nike x Martine Rose series aims to convey style, friendship, equality and positive change while celebrating every female athlete of this summer’s premiere sporting event.

The Nike x Martine Rose collection’s sartorial tailoring breaks down gender stereotypes in sport, setting a new precedent in women’s fashion on and off the pitch. Highlights of the collection include a player’s suit jacket, trousers, a trench jacket, a shirt and the most recent iteration of the Nike x Martine Rose Shox Mule MR 4, paired alongside accessories like colored stockings, gloves and sunglasses. The windbreaker, in particular, is fashioned with an extended sleeve design inspired by the football scarves worn by fans around the globe. Draped over the back or tied in the front, it offers versatile styling. Each athlete effortlessly interprets the collection with an air of confidence, pairing its sporty styles back to elegant leather trousers, trench coats and oversized shirts for a modern look.

After four years of competitive training and completing the 100m backstroke in 1’00”75, Au’s sense of victory is no longer confined to a stopwatch. Instead, Au focuses on achievements outside of the sport that help her feel grounded. 59.99 seconds is still her dream, but it’s the process and valuable experiences she gains along the way that mold her. In the upcoming Asian Games, she intends to give her all and persist with this mindset and direction. In the imagery above, Au dons a jersey-print shirt with denim and the all-new Nike x Martine Rose Shox Mule MR 4 in vibrant colorway “Safety Orange.”

According to Wen Tzu-yun, acknowledging one’s body is the key to success: “[If] you have a body, you are an athlete.” Styled in the collection’s checkered suit set, Tzu-yun embodies inner strength. No matter the field, she celebrates her body, mind and spirit, inspiring other women to nurture similar self-assurance in their careers and hobbies. Even when adhering to a blueprint to reach her larger goals, Tzu-yun reminds herself the importance of self-starting: “It doesn’t matter; these are just goals at different stages. Just do it. You will manifest what you desire only after you actually take action.”

The Nike x Martine collection is available to shop on Martine Rose’s website, SNKRS and select specialty stores.
