Atelier Wen and Massena LAB unveil the 50-piece Inflection Shuò watch.

Features hand-engraved 18k gold tremblage dials with East-meets-West California typography.

Crafted in 99.9% pure tantalum and powered by a Girard-Perregaux movement.

Atelier Wen and Massena LAB have joined forces to launch the Inflection Shuò, a limited-edition collaboration to be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Watch Days. Named after the Chinese character Shuò (烁) – meaning “sparkling” or “radiant” – the release blends traditional Chinese design motifs with Swiss Haute Horlogerie craftsmanship. The timepiece is built around an all-curved 40mm case and integrated bracelet constructed from 99.9% pure tantalum, a dense, corrosion-resistant metal known for its distinct inky-blue hue and extreme difficulty to machine and finish

The highlight of the timepiece lies in its solid 18k gold dial base, which features intricate hand tremblage engraved by specialist Coralie Mercier at GT Cadrans in Lonay, Switzerland. The layout revisits the classic “California dial” by pairing Massena LAB’s custom serif Arabic numerals across the top half with hand-calligraphed Chinese numerals on the bottom, bordered by an outer ring engraved with a traditional Chinese huiwen pattern.

Inside, the Inflection Shuò is powered by a customized, self-winding Girard-Perregaux GP03300 caliber. The movement features ruthenium-plated bridges with wave-like côtes and a 5N rose gold rotor shaped to evoke motifs of wind and water found in historical Chinese paintings. Beating at 28,800 vph with a 48-hour power reserve, the caliber is visible through a sapphire exhibition back.

The 50-piece production run is split into two dial executions: 10 pieces featuring an all-white-gold dial (reserved for established clients), and 40 pieces combining white gold with a rose gold hour sector (open to the public). Priced at 33,800 CHF (approx. $42,028 USD), orders for the watch open today via Atelier Wen, with deliveries beginning in early 2027.
