Summary

MING debuts the 57.05 Comet, a 40mm stainless‑steel worldtimer with a patent‑pending DST bezel.

Features include a dynamic “Comet Tail” dial, luminous 24‑hour ring, and Sellita Calibre 330.M2.

Limited to 200 pieces and available starting August 27, 2026.

MING celebrates its ninth anniversary with the launch of the 57.05 Comet, a worldtimer that rethinks one of watchmaking’s most storied complications. Inspired by the de Havilland Comet airliner and Louis Cottier’s pioneering 1930s worldtime system, the watch introduces a patent‑pending bezel mechanism that mechanically adjusts for daylight saving time. Cities observing DST are placed on a separate outer bezel, which rotates a single click to advance them by one hour, while unaffected cities remain fixed. A red “DST ON” aperture provides immediate confirmation, making the complication both tactile and intuitive.

At the center of the watch lies MING’s dynamic “Comet Tail” dial, constructed from overlapping multilayered raster grids. As light shifts and time moves, the alignment between these micro-patterns gradually changes, producing an evolving interference effect that prevents the dial from ever appearing static. Legibility in the dark is prioritized through color-coded Super-LumiNova X1: blue emission indicates daytime hours, while orange emission marks nighttime hours on the 24-hour ring. Above the display, the box-style front sapphire crystal is laser-engraved with MING’s proprietary Polar White luminous material, casting white-glowing floating markers for the primary 12-hour indices.

Housed in a 316L stainless steel case measuring 40mm in diameter and 10.33mm thick, the 57.05 Comet embodies MING’s fifth-generation design language. Its signature triple-stepped lugs are assembled from nine individual components, allowing for sharply defined, alternating brushed and mirror-polished surfaces.

The watch offers 100 meters of water resistance and is powered by the automatic Sellita for MING Calibre 330.M2, which features skeletonized, anthracite-coated bridges and a 50-hour power reserve. Limited to just 200 pieces worldwide, the MING 57.05 Comet opens for orders on August 27, 2026, at 1 p.m. GMT, priced at 6,950 CHF (approx. $8,643 USD) on a cobalt blue Jean Rousseau goat leather strap or 7,950 CHF (approx. $9,887 USD) on a 3D-printed titanium MING Polymesh bracelet.
