Update: Last week, the latest weapon in Nike’s slip-on arsenal was revealed. Reworking the Calm Slide into a mule, the Calm Mule is poised to carry both the Calm Slide’s early success on the market and the ongoing favoring of mule styles from sneakerheads and fashion enthusiasts. Now, the Swoosh has officially showcased its all-grey colorway ahead of its forthcoming launch, date TBD. Stay tuned for additional updates as Nike looks to present the new model in the coming weeks.

Original Story: Nike has revealed an extension of its Calm line, following the success of its Calm Slide which quickly became a summer favorite. Borrowing similar notes from the slide, the latest addition, unofficially dubbed the Calm Mule, is presented in three colorways, namely olive, black and grey.

With mule styling being at the precipice of fashion right now, seeing releases from brands like ADER error, LOEWE and more, Nike’s release is in a sense of timing, right on the dime. However, as things cool off, it will be interesting to see if the Calm Mule can perform as well as its Slide counterpart.

The silhouette features a closed-toe design with a cut-out at the in-facing sides of the upper, removable fabric ankle straps that feature “NIKE” branding at the heel and a minimal debossed Nike logo, the same found on the Calm Slides. All of these design elements are composed using the very same material and footbed as the Calm Slide, hence the assumption of its inclusion in the line.

An official price and release date have yet to be shared at the time of writing but keep an eye on official Nike channels with more information likely to come soon.

In other footwear news, the Nike Air Humara has surfaced in Buff Gold.
