After reconnecting with Brooks Brothers for a hybrid jacket collaboration earlier this month, eYe Junya Watanabe MAN has returned to unveil an all-new team-up with Carhartt. First unveiled on Watanabe’s Fall/Winter 2023 runway in January, the duo’s pocket-packed men’s parka, finished in 100% polyester, has finally arrived in stores.
Made in Japan, the crossover jacket possesses an ideal mixture of the two brands’ signature codes: Carhartt’s workwear legacy collides with Watanabe’s penchant for challenging standard fashion practices — and the result is an ultra-utilitarian coat that still adheres to a modern uniform.
The design features multiple, three-dimensional front pockets, one of which dons the classic Carhartt logo, and two securely-fastened chest pockets. Below them, two harness-like bands appear ready to hold thinly-shaped tools, while a press-snap carrier runs down the center of the construction. Elsewhere, the jacket houses two fleece-lined side pockets, as well as changeable zip cuffs with velcro lining.
The parka boasts an adjustable drawcord waist and hood, with mesh lining running through the entire interior of the silhouette. Rounding out the inside layout, two internal pockets offer even more on-body storage.
The eYe Junya Watanabe MAN x Carhartt Parka is now available to shop on Dover Street Market’s webstore. The coat, which is available in sizes ranging from small to extra-large, is listed for $1,350 USD. Take a closer look at the piece in the gallery above.
