Prada's Caffè Principe Basks In the Florence Summer Sun
Contrasting its London Harrods location with 1950s touches.
Following its opening at London’s Harrods, Prada Caffè is taking over the Italian shoreline with its new location in Florence, Italy.
Prada’s luxurious motifs reign supreme across the original 1930s bistro, opened by a Florentine family that quickly became a popular seaside destination during Italian summertime. Unlike the art-deco-inspired mint green Harrods Caffè, Prada has maintained the restaurant’s original design while Florentine architect Michele Bonan inserts signature brand touches.
Prada’s Caffè Principe oozes with retro feelings, dominated by 1950s furniture that supplies vintage personality. Petite wooden tables and wicker chairs allow guests to relax and enjoy a quick bite while outdoor seating basks in the endless summer sun. “Principe” lettering is stamped across the overhead glass, complemented by nostalgic 1960s wallpaper and curtains pulled from Prada’s textile archives.
The menu features light and classic refreshments, including fresh Caprese salads, petite sandwiches, and traditional French pastries.
