New Balance has revealed another tonal colorway of the now ultra-popular 9060, bringing back both “Raincloud” and “Sea Salt” into one pair.

First introduced in 2022 as a collaborative silhouette with Chicago-born designer Joe Freshgoods, the 9060 has seen a variety of significant collaborations and attractive inline releases. Some of the most recent include Bricks & Wood, Bodega and UNITED ARROWS — which tonally looks similar to the upcoming Raincloud/Sea Salt.

The first instance of raincloud on the 9060 was seen in an August 2020 release, featuring various shades of grey and a red accent at the tongue and a metallic N logo. As for Sea Salt, it arrived on the scene in early January, featuring hues of cream and subtle accents of grey and also included a metallic N logo on the exterior.

As for the mashup of the two colorways, the Cloudrain/Sea Salt represents a futuristic but subtle presence, with soft tonal off-white suede covering the entire shoe and the N logo swapped out for an almost matte-finished rubberized grey.

The hybrid silhouette, which pulls from the 990 series and early 2000s running shoes such as the 860, has become a go-to for casual wearers and enthusiasts alike. While no exact date for the release of this latest colorway has been shared at the time of writing, it is expected this year via New Balance online stores and is estimated to be priced at $150 USD in line with earlier releases.
