Penfolds Announces NIGO As First-Ever Creative Partner

Kicking off the new appointment with the global launch of One by Penfolds.

Going from fashion to fine wine, creative heavyweight NIGO reveals he will join Australian winemaker Penfolds as its debut creative partner. The announcement came months after the creative’s KENZO appointment as he continues to expand his horizons across the artistic landscape.

For the multi-year partnership with Penfolds, NIGO plans to work with the brand on developing the creative identity of select special projects. It is expected that the creative will not only help elevate Penfolds’ vision, but also bring his playful flair in design to new wines and limited-edition releases.

The inaugural collaboration between the two forces introduces NIGO’s role through the global launch of One by Penfolds. Celebrating “Oneness”, One by Penfolds is about more than the wine itself. Inspired by, and working alongside, the community of each winemaking region, Penfolds winemakers have created a worldly set of modern white and red wines. Using his signature style, NIGO designs four animal motifs which feature on the One by Penfolds wine labels including a crocodile, rooster, panda and bear. The designs represent the four countries – Australia, France, China and America respectively – where One by Penfolds wines are sourced.

Speaking on the new appointment, Penfolds chief marketing officer Kristy Keyte shares, “We are incredibly proud to name NIGO as Penfolds first-ever creative partner. NIGO is at the forefront of culture and design which makes him the ideal visionary to take the reins of One by Penfolds and work together with us across special Penfolds projects. We look forward to sharing this new Penfolds chapter with lovers of fashion, wine, art, and music all around the world.”

Celebrating the global launch of One by Penfolds, NIGO has also designed a collection of t-shirts and jackets. Made by Human Made in Japan, the high-quality apparel items featuring NIGO’s familiar animal motifs are available in limited quantities on HBX.com from July 13.
One by Penfolds is available to purchase in Asia, Australia and the US from July 13, followed by the UK, Malaysia and Korea in September.

The launch of One by Penfolds will coincide with a new initiative titled Penfolds Evermore. Evermore is Penfolds commitment to making a positive contribution towards a world where future generations can thrive. As part of the Evermore initiative, Penfolds will donate $1million AUD over five years, as part of a global grant program that ladders back to the One by Penfolds territory of community.
