When it comes to the Tokyo-based label, JULIUS, what remains clear is its unwavering grip on the avant-garde – in both execution and elevation. Whether they decide to offer up pseudo-Jedis or futuristic everyday bystanders, its creativity is ever-expanding. This time around, the brand offers a taste of grunge chic with its Spring/Summer 2024 [ helioz; ] collection.

The need collection sees an overtly dark connotation that is crafted by color and construction. At first glance, the various shades of black, midnight blue, stone gray and crimson catch the aura of grunge. But what then takes the grunge chic aesthetic further is the assemblage of distorted silhouettes. Draped tops, loose-fitting pants and flowing wraps shawls are just a taste of the collection’s wide-reaching personality.

A forward-thinking vision of tailoring is also at play and is defined by tailored and cropped blazers, overcoats and remixed trousers elevated with both scrunched and asymmetrical design details. But across the roster of eye-catching ensembles, what further builds up [ helioz; ] is the emphasis on texture – using everything from satin fabrics to cotton and shaggy furs.

Take a look at the JULIUS SS24 collection in the gallery above.
