Mercedes-Benz Reveals AMG G 63 "Grand Edition" Model
Set to be produced as a special edition of only 1,000 units.
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 “Grand Edition” sees one of the automaker’s most iconic models, the G-Class, reimagined through exciting accents and details.
Produced in a limited edition of 1,000 units, the “Grand Edition” is painted in MANUFAKTUR nigh black magno, with kalaharigold magno details to provide the ultimate contrast, which Mercedes says emphasizes the design elements that trace the direct lineage of the modern off-road vehicle to the first G model from 1979.
“The Mercedes-AMG G 63 is now also undoubtedly regarded as an automotive icon and demonstrates its unique position among performance off-road vehicles partly through its powerful drive, the AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension and the AMG-specific driving programmes,” shared Michael Schiebe, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH & Head of the Top End Vehicle (TEV) Group. He added that “The exclusive interior and extensive equipment further underscore the singular and special nature of this strong-spirited SUV.”
Golden detailing can be found throughout the vehicle’s exterior and interior, representing the first time the AMG logo, Mercedes star, and Affalterbach emblem have been presented in this special color. Inlays in the front and rear bumpers, the optical underride protection in the front, the Mercedes star in the spare wheel inlay and the spare wheel ring are also finished in kalaharigold.
The special model is fitted with 22-inch AMG forged wheels with a cross-spoke design in tech gold with a matt black central locking nut and a Mercedes star also in tech gold. In the interior, the “Grand Edition” features various black and gold contrasts, including black nappa leather seating with gold stitching. Other details include the words “Grand Edition” in gold on the vehicle’s carbon grab handle.
Starting at a price of 228,896 EUR or nearly $250,000 USD, order inquiries for the 585 HP “Grand Edition” AMG G 63 can be placed by contacting an authorized dealer or by visiting the Mercedes-Benz website.
