Slowthai Pleads Not Guilty to Two Rape Charges
The British artist appeared in court ahead of his 2024 trial.
Slowthai has appeared in a Crown Court in Oxford, England, where he has pleaded not guilty to two charges of raping a woman in September 2021. The 28-year-old British artist, whose real name is Tyron Kaymone Frampton, entered his plea on Thursday morning, June 15.
Oxford is the same city in which the alleged crime took place. Slowthai stands accused of raping a woman vaginally and orally and was charged last month. He’ll stand trial in front of a judge and jury next year.
Days after being arrested, the artist was removed from festival lineups across the UK, including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, and Parklife.
Slowthai made his appearance in the court alongside another man, Alex Blake-Walker, who faces charges of sexually assaulting the same woman, and raping and sexually assaulting a second victim. Blake-Walker also pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
