Rob Grant, Lana Del Rey's Dad, Drops Debut Studio Album 'Lost At Sea'
Featuring two tracks with Del Rey.
Rob Grant, the father of Lana Del Rey, has officially released his debut studio album Lost At Sea.
Clocking in at approximately 40 minutes, the 14-track record includes Del Rey as the sole guest artist for the title track and the closer “Hollywood Bowl.” Lost At Sea hears Grant creates doting melodies with a piano, sharing his love for the water and offering an emotional soundtrack for those who have a similar affinity to him.
In a previous interview with GQ, Grant — the first “nepo daddy” — explained that the seeds of the record were planted when he asked Del Rey’s producers to record him playing the piano while waiting for her to arrive at the studio. Her daughter’s manager Ben Mawson was a fan of what he heard, and and shopped it around before ending up at Decca Records. Luke Howard and Del Rey’s longtime collaborator and producer, Jack Antonoff, helped Grant “shape his songs” and cut the hours of recording into individual tracks.
