Lil Durk Teases Next Project Could Be a Country Album With Morgan Wallen
This would not have been the first time the duo has worked together.
Lil Durk appears to be ready to put in the work for his next project, this time stepping outside of his usual accolades and hinting at a potential collaboration with country star Morgan Wallen.
Following the success of his latest album Almost Healed, Durk took to his Instagram Story earlier on June 8 to write a message to his fans that might surprise some of his nearly 15 million followers. The Chicago rapper teased that he might be recording a joint album with his friend and country singer, Wallen. He wrote, “Me and Morgan should do a album together [gold cup emoji] 1st to do it.” Durk also added in the caption, “Everything we do we win might as well do a country album 1st to do it.”
The duo have worked together before on Durk’s 2022 album, 7220 for a track called “Broadway Girls.” The song was the first time they collaborated and also the first time Wallen sung on a trap beat. While Durk did say “1st to do it,” he would not be the first rapper to partner with a country star for an album. In 2004, Nelly had a hugely successful track with Tim McGraw that landed him on the Billboard Hot 100. Nelly has also partnered with several country stars like Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Darius Rucker, Jimmie Allen and more. It remains to be seen if Durk and Wallen’s project will actually happen.
