Nike Introduces Its Newest Huarache Runner Model
Upper builds swap out the traditional neoprene for a breathable mesh.
Nike recently announced that it made a set of changes within its executive leadership teams in order to help hone in on the brand’s storytelling and output of more innovative products. The brand continues to flourish for releasing its classic models in both OG and fresh inline colorways, but will be making strides in the coming years to serve consumers with new and compelling products. One newer item that will be hitting the shelves this year is the Nike Huarache Runner, and its first iteration has just been unearthed.
As you can gather from its moniker, this latest installment is based off of the original Air Huarache, but it bears various material adjustments that allow it to stand on its own. The Huarache tongue badges, textured midsoles, heel counters and overlays have been retained, but its traditional neoprene material that forms the model’s base layer has been traded out for a mesh material. Additionally, tiny Swoosh logos show face via the quarter panel windows as well as the atop the edges of the toe boxes. This inaugural colorway is dialed to a “Light Smoke Grey” hue and comes complemented with solid cages, purple tongue accents and gum bottoms.
Look for retailers like Finish Line to launch these on July 6.
In other news, a Nike Air Max 1 “Sofvi” inspired by Japanese vinyl toys has been revealed.
