Madlib Previews His Unreleased Collaborations With Mac Miller and Freddie Gibbs
From the ‘Maclib’ and ‘Montana’ projects, respectively.
Madlib has worked with essentially everyone in the music industry. The prolific producer and DJ has proven his expertise across rap styles, collaborating with MF Doom, Talib Kweli and more, to name just a few.
At a recent show in Sydney, Australia, Madlib played a few tracks for the audience that never quite made it to streaming platforms. Among them was a song called “John Gotti Karate” from Montana, the third collaborative album between Madlib and Freddie Gibbs, set to release as the final installment in their trilogy.
The DJ also played an unreleased single with the late Mac Miller entitled “Nosy Neighbour.” Madlib shared that the track will appear on the long-awaited Maclib mixtape. In March, Madlib said he was working on finishing up the posthumous collaboration, a project that has the approval from Miller’s estate.
Not one to rest, Madlib also told the crowd they could expect to hear LPs with Fly Anakin and Meyhem Lauren sometime soon.
