Dior and Notox Drop Exclusive $10,500 USD Surfboard
Combining “technical expertise, couture spirit and respect for the environment.”
After teaming up with Vissla to produce a Japanese-made wetsuit collection last month, Dior is continuing to ride the ocean’s waves with an all-new, exclusive surfboard, made in collaboration with eco-friendly French brand Notox — and it can be yours for a cool $10,500 USD.
Designed with buoyancy and performance at the forefront, the board appears as a natural extension of Dior’s beachwear capsule and partnership with Parley for the Oceans, a non-profit organization focused on ocean protection. Adorned with a signature (in this case, glittery) Dior emblem across the body, the board also highlights subtle branding in easy-to-miss places.
In a video accompanying the board’s release, Notox’s team details the design’s 3D-model build, performance specifications, distinct “rocker curve” shape and unique rounded outline — all of which are optimized for catching speed while riding waves. Handmade in the Basque Country, Europe’s home of surfing, the board is composed entirely of sustainable materials and water-based paints. To finish, a low-solvent resin is poured over the board to create its smooth and shiny Dior look.
The board’s rails, Diamond tail and two “twin fin” daggerboards (most surfboards have three) offer the rider ultimate stability and directional control. In addition to the twin fins, the board is equipped with essential accessories including a leash, a cover and a display stand. It also pairs effortlessly with the brand’s Vissla wetsuits.
The surfboard is part of Dior’s beachwear capsule, which is now available to shop on the brand’s webstore. Take a closer look at the design in the gallery above.
