Carhartt WIP‘s lightweight and layerable spring/summer collection spotlights the versatility of denim – even for warm weather looks. Now, in correspondence with the recently-released collection, the brand has debuted its latest editorial: “Boroughs,” which pays homage to New York City in its imagery and aura.

“Boroughs” emphasizes reimagined Carhartt WIP styles and NYC surroundings in its slew of grainy images. Photographer D’Andre Williams strategically places models in front of familiar NYC landmarks like the 125th Street subway station in Harlem, brick walls and apartment stoops, which, with the film format used throughout, gives the editorial a nostalgic old New York feel.

Carhartt classics including the OG Chore Coat and Simple Pant can be seen in black denim with contrast triple stitching accents, whereas the Women’s OG Michigan Coat is refurbished in a soft stone-washed blue denim. Other standouts from the collection come from the “Alma” group, which repurposes two of Carhartt WIP’s foundational fabrics for loose, lightweight and modernized takes on classic workwear items like vests, jackets and pants — precisely what WIP has been aiming to provide since its inception in 1994

Take a closer look at “Boroughs” in the gallery above. The editorial, as well as the entire Spring/Summer 2023 collection, can be found on the brand’s website.
