ASICS Presents the GEL-KAYANO 14 in "Tarmac"
Available now.
Last year, JJJJound and ASICS brewed up sneaker magic with their two-pack of GEL-KAYANO 14s. The release effectively propelled the silhouette — and ASICS as a whole — into the mainstream. Since then, various iterations of the sneaker, including JJJJound-adjacent pairs, have been flocked to as Y2K aesthetics continue to trend. A true 2000s-era sneaker, the GEL-KAYANO 14’s impact has propped up other ASICS sneakers such as the GEL-NIMBUS 9 and the new GEL-NYC.
Now, the GEL-KAYANO 14 continues its takeover in a fresh “Vanilla/Tarmac” palette. Staying true to the runner’s origins, original tooling such as GEL and Trusstic System Technology makes a return at the sole unit. Elsewhere, the colorful upper takes on a loose gauge mesh for its base in an off-white “Vanilla.” Resting atop this, synthetic overlays offers hits of olive green, a golden mustard and navy with the aforementioned “Vanilla” serving as a backdrop. Typical ASICS branding appears at the midfoot, lateral heel with “GEL-KAYANO 14” text, a “GEL” note at the heel and the traditional logo at the tongue and sockliner.
For those interested in picking up the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 “Tarmac,” it is available now via ASICS at a price of $150 USD. Be sure to act fast as only select sizes remain in stock.
Elsewhere in the world of footwear, Bottega Veneta has released its head-turning $650 USD Caged Boot.
