Victoria Monét Heats Up With New Track “Party Girls”
Sure to be a summertime anthem.
Victoria Monét is preparing for both summer and her forthcoming era with the release of her new track “Party Girls” featuring Buju Banton.
A groovily energetic, yet smooth track, the song is sure to be a summertime anthem with its fusion of R&B, reggae and dancehall styles. The fusion of sounds continues to be a testament to Monét’s musical prowess as she manages to make its harmony irrefutably fun. Echoing the sonic formula, the track’s message echoes a similar cadence of temporary fun. “No more backs on the wall/Come pull me close to you/Rock me deep into the morning/’Cause by sunrise I’ll be gone,” sings Monét in verse one. As such, the song has a restrictionless approach to just enjoying oneself.
The track’s accompanying music video takes form in a dancehall-like warehouse party with a range of personalities and lines of motorcycles. What’s also impressive about the music video is Monet’s sheer performance/dance ability, which sees the songstress lead a range of routines that includes elements of hip-hop, dancehall and jazz movements. From the track to the video, it’s clear that Victoria Monét is preparing for something big with the anticipated release of her debut album, Jaguar II.
